That’s right. After a while trying to deflect the temptation, I joined the bandwagon. I’m registered as warhawkestudios because someone else took the name warhawke dammit! Just in case some people might think that warhawke is me, so I thought I better make an official account. Since I had to settle for warhawkestudios, I’m using this twitter for mostly official Warhawke Studios stuff. But somehow I’m starting to like this twittering thing so maybe I’ll tweet some random stuff too haha!
Also, Sims99 also had an official account under OfficialSims99. Follow us for every latest updates and news about Sims99

Last year Sims99 hosted a contest for members to write script, create character and build set. The winning script, Sims and set were to be made into a movie by the mods. I (wasn’t a mod at that time) won for Sims and Set category and Laroling won for Script.

So I got the Sims 3. The verdict? It’s ok but I’m not blown away by it.
The Dilemma
The game is installed on my brother’s laptop and he’s only home on the weekends so that’s the only time I would be able to play. I want to add RAM to my computer and was preparing (and debating) to delete TS2 and install TS3 (since my computer can’t handle both at one time), but after playing it for a few days, I think It’s safe to say, I’m not getting rid of Sims 2, so that means I won’t have Sims 3 on my computer. I’m ok with that. I just wanted to experience the gameplay and see the machinima potential. Now that I’ve seen both, I don’t mind not having it especially with the fact that I can borrow my brother’s laptop if I feel like playing.
Sims 3 Machinima
I won’t be making TS3 movies for now. For one, the graphic looks bad on bro’s laptop. Then the lack of hacks and mods. I would need at least one animation hack to make movie making easier and faster. Yes, I used to make movies without any hacks/mods, but that was at the time when I didn’t know much about movie making and didn’t pay much attention to details. With the way I make movies now, if I have to assign sims tasks just to get the desired animation, I would grow old before the move is done haha!
Creating a Sims
The Bad
No matter how many times I see a Sims (in game or custom Sims made by the community), I still can’t get over the fact that they have bloated faces! They’re so freaking plastic eugh…
I really have hard time trying to shape their faces. No matter what I do, I can’t make them to have chiseled features like how I prefer my Sims to be. Also, the lack of CC really put me off. So far creators can only make default replacement for genetic. Since I’m technically challenged, I don’t know if it’s possible to make independent CC, but I really hope it will be in the future because I need variety!
The Good
I do love the body shape option. It’s awesome because of the realism factor. And it would be great for movies that have “transition storyline”. For example an average bodied man got thinner after his wife died due to depression. We can now use body shape to add to the use of appearance and facial expression to portray state of emotion.
The default eyes and skin are definitely much better than in Sims 2. I also like the customizability level which is very detailed, like the ability to change the color of the shoelace.
Buy/Build Mode
For me, both the good and the bad comes from the same thing – the customizability. I love the fact that now we can have matching furniture color to the window pane (something I always have problem in Sims 2). In fact, we can match it to pretty much anything we want! The bad is, as much as I love building sets, this feature will make set building takes double the time haha!
I also like the UI design especially for build mode. Even though the design a bit childish, it’s pretty cute haha!
Sims 3 Tutorial
I’m not making any new tutorial since there is no need for it. Pretty much everything in my Sims 2 tutorials are applicable to Sims 3 in term of movie making technical. But when I have the time, I’ll go over everything and add snippets of relevant Sims 3 info.
So in a nutshell, since I’m more of a movie maker than a gamer, I’m not really liking Sims 3 yet. But I am optimistic that in time, my opinion would change.
